The 'What The Hell' singer ' who is currently dating 'The Hills' hunk Brody Jenner - is promoting her latest album 'Goodbye Lullaby' in the country but has managed to find time for surfing and visiting Sydney's famous Taronga Zoo.

She wrote on her twitter page: 'Omg just went to the zoo and got to touch koala bears and kangaroos!!!!! Now about to go surfing in Australia!!!!! Wow! (sic)'

She later added: 'Just surfed on a 4 ft wave on a 7ft board in manly OZ. My smallest board and biggest wave to date !!! I'm tired now haha. Gonna upload WTH.TV soon of me surfing :) (sic)'

Avril has even had time to sample some of the local food, tweeting Brody's stepsister Kim Kardashian a picture of Tim Tams ' an Australian chocolate biscuit snack - and writing: ' actually had some waiting for me in my hotel room.... Ur right.. Pretty good (sic).'

Avril has previously revealed she became interested in surfing because it is similar to her first love, skateboarding, which she practises in her garage.

The 'Sk8er Boi' singer said:"I sometimes skateboard at my house. This might sound really strange and bizarre, but I skateboard in my garage.

Madonna being sued after pulling plans to build a school in Malawi

Madonna is being sued after she decided to 'discontinue' plans to build a school for girls in Malawi.

The 'Celebration' hitmaker is the subject of legal action by eight workers ' who were fired when the singer replaced the board of directors with a caretaker panel ' who are seeking compensation for unpaid wages after she terminated plans to build an academy in the African country through her Raising Malawi foundation.

Lawyer Mzondi Chirambo said:"Their employment was terminated by the trustees of Raising Malawi Academy for Girls ostensibly following the change of plan not to build the school as planned.

"My clients are also being forced to sign a discriminatory termination agreement before they are paid their benefits.

"We are claiming unpaid salary and benefits. The workers live here. The court will decide. It's not our policy to comment further."

Mr. Chirambo added that one of his clients is Dr. Anjimile Oponyo, the school's recently sacked CEO and says the singer - who pledged to build the school when she adopted son David, now five, from the country in 2006 - has 14 days to respond to the lawsuit.

Meanwhile, Michael Berg - who co-founded the charity Rasing Malawi with the pop star ' and the Kabbalah Centre International in Los Angeles, were named in an unrelated recent lawsuit alleging mismanagement of funds intended for children's education in Los Angeles.

A wealthy California woman sued Mr. Berg, his family and the centre last month claiming she made a $498,000 donation to create an organisation for children to learn about Kabbalah which never materialised, the New York Daily News reports.

While in New York, a federal grand jury is reportedly investigating finances connecting the Berg family, the Kabbalah Centre and Raising Malawi .

As well as David, Madonna also adopted now six-year-old Mercy from Malawi in 2009, joining her other children Lourdes, 14, and Rocco, 10.

Sarah Harding has not yet found a venue for her wedding

The 29-year-old star ' who got engaged to DJ Tom Crane on New Year's Eve 2010 while on holiday in the Maldives ' is not planning the event too quickly because she doesn't want to rush proceedings.

Speaking at the Jameson Empire Film Awards at London's Grosvenor House hotel last night (27.03.11), Sarah told BANG Showbiz: 't's early days yet. Everyone is asking me about wedding stuff. We haven't found a venue. I'm not the kind of girl who has been dreaming about my wedding since I was five.'

Sarah has been on an extended hiatus from Girls Aloud ' which also includes Cheryl Cole, Nadine Coyle, Nicola Roberts and Kimberley Walsh ' since September 2009, but she is hopeful something might happen with the group in 2012 as it will be a decade since they were put together on UK TV talent show 'Popstars: The Rivals'.

She said: ' would love for us to get back together maybe next year because it will have been 10 years. But you never know. It's really flown by.

'We haven't had the chance to sit down and have a talk about it yet but next year would be perfect. But nothing is confirmed yet.'

Cee Lo Green believes writing a song is an 'act of faith'

The 'Bright Lights, Bigger City' singer confessed he has no idea if a song is going to be a hit when he creates it, but writes all his tracks from the gut.

He said: 'You have to go with what you feel. Every time you write a song it's an act of faith.

Russell Brand almost proposed to Katy Perry on their first date

The British funnyman was instantly smitten with the 26-year-old singer ' who he married in October 2010 ' when they first went out together in September 2009 and said his feelings for her were like a 'hit of acid' in the way they distorted his perception.

Dionne Bromfield got career advice from Justin Bieber

The 'Yeah Right' singer met the Canadian heartthrob at her record company offices, and was surprised he knew who she was, but glad of his words of advice.

She told BANG Showbiz: 'There was a load of screaming girls outside, but I just said, 'Hi, I'm Dionne,' and he said 'Hi, I know who you are!' I was like, 'Are you serious? OK, nice one,'

'He told me his motto, 'Never Say Never', and to stick with what I'm doing, and be true to myself. I wanted his advice because he's only 17 and I was only 15 at the time, so he knows what it's like being a child musician.'

Dionne also admitted she does find the 'Baby' singer attractive, but admitted it's 'wearing off' now he is dating Selena Gomez.

She added: ' do have 'Bieber Fever'. I had it lots about a year ago, but it's kind of wearing off right now, I think it's because he's got a girlfriend, if I'm honest.

'But I saw him at the O2 and he put on a great show.'

Liam Gallagher blasts Noel for Oasis 'Culture Club' videos

Liam Gallagher feels his brother Noel made Oasis look like"Culture Club on s**t acid"in their videos.

The Beady Eye frontman formed his group in 2009 from all the members of Oasis apart from guitarist and songwriter Noel, whom he feels treated them like his"backing band"and made them look like the flamboyant 80s pop band, led by singer Boy George.

He told Spin magazine:"Sometimes Noel treated us like his f***ing backing band. Some of the videos we did were f***ing shocking. 'Lyla', for example. We look like f***ing Culture Club on s**t acid.

"This time around, we're in control of the details."

The video for 'Lyla' shows Oasis playing at a colourful masked ball where a girl who is mistreated by her boyfriend is the star guest.

Liam added none of Beady Eye act as the band leader, but they all share the same enthusiasm to make the group a success.

He added:"The little fella's gone. I watch enough Sky News to know that we shouldn't have leaders. This band is four geezers all on the same page, wanting to make this the greatest band in the world."

The Shadows bassist Jet Harris has died aged 71

The musician, who played alongside Sir Cliff Richard in the British rock and roll group, passed away at his partner's home in Winchester, south west England after battling throat cancer.

Born Terence Harris, he made his debut recording on Cliff's hit 'Livin' Lovin' Doll' and was awarded an MBE for services to music in 2010.

Cliff said:"Jet was exactly what The Shadows and I needed - a backbone holding our sound together."

"Jet, the bass player, will always be an integral part of British rock and roll history.

"Losing him is sad - but the great memories will stay with me. Rock on, Jet."

The 'Apache' hitmaker was also praised by his agent Peter Stockton who paid tribute to his dedication to his fans right up to his last performance.

He told the BBC:"He was a man who was so courageous and determined and kept saying 'I will beat this'.

"The last time he went on stage he said he didn't want to let people down and I could see he was struggling a bit, but he got a standing ovation. Regrettably it was the last concert he did on February 5."

Jet's musical career took off in 1958 when he went on tour with the Most Brothers. He later joined Cliff's group The Drifters and is credited with coming up with their new name The Shadows.

They went on to release a string of hits including 'The Savage', 'Wonderful Land' and 'Man of Mystery' and the rocker also enjoyed solo success in 1962 with 'Besame Mucho' and 'The Man With the Golden Arm'.

Thom Yorke is working on a rap album

The singer ' who recently released eighth album 'The King of Limbs' with his band Radiohead ' may collaborate on an entire album with rapper MF Doom after it was confirmed they have joined forces on a number of tracks together.

MF Doom told 3D World magazine:"We're working on some duets It's just preliminary sh*t but we will probably end up doing a whole record together.

"We've got some ill a*s ideas."

This isn't the first time the unlikely duo have collaborated, as Thom previously appeared on a remix of the rapper's 'Gazzillion Ear' in 2009.

Meanwhile, Thom has also revealed this week he will be collaborating with folktronica star Four Tet and dubstep hitmaker Burial for a new double A-side single entitled 'Ego' and 'Mirrors'.

The release will be limited to just 300 copies and will be put out through Four Tet's own label, Text.

Radiohead recently surprised fans by 'The King of Limbs', as it wasn't known they were in the studio or had even started writing songs to follow up 2007 album 'In Rainbows'.

Bryan Adams is to get a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame

The 51-year-old rocker will receive the accolade in an induction ceremony on March 21 in front of the Musician's Institute at Hollywood Boulevard in Los Angeles.

His website made the announcement today (16.03.11), adding,"Everyone is welcome to attend!"

The news comes just a day after the 'Everything I Do (I Do it For You)' hitmaker announced he is expecting his first child with his personal assistant Alicia Grimaldi, who is due to give birth in May.

He told TV show 'Entertainment Tonight Canada':"Alicia Grimaldi and I are expecting a baby. She helped me start my foundation years ago and it looks like she'll be running the family now!"

However, a spokesperson for the star - who is currently touring the US - declined to comment on whether he is in a relationship with the mother of his unborn child, who is rumoured to be living with him in London.

An insider said:"Many of their friends still don't even know that they are a couple, but they are living together at his house."

The 17-year-old singer is the latest star to be honoured with his own replica figure by famous museum Madame Tussauds and he unveiled his double in London today (15.03.11) in front of a few lucky fans while thousands more watched via a live web stream.

The 'Baby' hitmaker seemed impressed by his likeness although he commented that he had grown in height since he posed for it.

He told museum staff:"It's pretty incredible to see. I'm taller but this was a point in time.

"It looks awesome, thanks very much."

Fan Grace Magraff, 14, said:"I cannot believe I am in the same room as Justin and his figure is amazing. I don't want to leave; I just want to stay by his figure forever! It's brilliant, just like him. I love it!"

The waxwork was created with the help of the teenager's personal hair stylist to ensure it had his signature sweeping cut - which he recently ditched - and is dressed in a fashionable black and red shirt with jeans.

Justin gave sculptors in New York a sitting late last year, where hundreds of precise measurements were taken. The figure then took four months to complete at a cost of£150,000.

Liz Edwards, PR manager at the attraction, said:"The interest in Justin's figure has been truly phenomenal. We were absolutely inundated with requests from young fans to include him and since we announced that we were indeed making his figure we've been besieged by 'Beliebers' wanting to know when they can come and see him here.

"We're sure they will be as pleased with the final results as Justin seems to be today."

Sarah Harding admitted the best thing about her engagement party was watching her mum and future mother-in-law dancing together.

The Girls Aloud singer and her fiance Tom Crane celebrated their betrothal with a bash at members-only club The Brompton, in London, last Monday (07.03.11) with family and celebrity friends.

The 'Biology' hitmaker couldn't keep the smile off her face when she saw her mother Marie showing off her best dance moves with Tom's mum.

She told Britain's HELLO! magazine: 't was really nice to have all the people I love and care about under one roof. One of the highlights was seeing our two mums strutting their stuff on the dancefloor. It all went past so quickly as there were so many people to catch up with, and before I knew it the evening was over. But it was everything I hoped it would be.'

Sarah admits she was nervous before the party, because she had put so much effort into it to make it a success.

She added: ' had butterflies beforehand. This has felt like a wedding, with all the preparation.'

Taking Back Sunday announce UK summer tour

With a brand new studio album set for release this summer, the classic Taking Back Sunday line-up that recorded their 2002 debut album 'Tell All Your Friends' will play the UK for the first time ever when they hit the road in May. The tour culminates with a prestigious show at London's Roundhouse on May 20th.

Rejoining long term members Adam Lazzara (vocals), Eddie Reyes (guitar) and Mark O'Connell (drums) are John Nolan (guitar/vocals) and Shaun Cooper (bass), who left the band in 2003 to form Straylight Run.

The currently untitled new album was produced by Eric Valentine (Queens of the Stone Age, Lostprophets) who also helmed Taking Back Sunday's 'Louder Now' album which topped Kerrang!'s 2006 Album of the Year poll. Writing for the album commenced at the Sonic Ranch, a studio based in a pecan ranch in El Paso, Texas shortly after the five members reunited last year and continued and at Robert Lang Studios in Seattle, while the recording took place at Barefoot Recording in Hollywood. The first fruits of the band's labour can be heard at the official site's player which hosts a demo version of 'Best Places To Be A Mom'. The song was premiered on the band's brief June 2010 US tour that they embarked upon shortly after announcing that Nolan and Cooper had returned to the fold.

Beyonce turned off by men who wear too much aftershave

The singer-and-actress ' who is married to hip-hop superstar Jay-Z ' says it's much sexier if a man has a subtle scent rather than something that is overbearing.

She said: 'A man should never be too overbearing with his scent. I've been in too many elevators next to too many men with strong aftershave and it's a total turn-off. With men, a scent should be subtle, clean and fresh, and just make you want to lean in to smell more. That's sexy.'

Beyonce has just launched her second fragrance, Heat Rush, and says Jay-Z was involved in the creative process because she will only wear perfumes he approves of.

She told Britain's Cosmopolitan magazine: 'One of the most important aspects of my perfume is that they get his seal of approval. When you wear a perfume, you want your man to love it. He loves my scents because he was part of the decision-making process. I wouldn't wear a scent of he didn't like it.'

Frank Turner celebrates 1000th gig at Strummerville Spring Sessions

It's the night before Good Friday, one of the best nights of the year to throw a party and when Strummerville will present the charity's crop of new talent, sharing a stage with Frank Turner, who will celebrate his 1000th ever live show.

Growing out of its West London base, the Strummerville Spring Sessions goes to East London to take-over Hearn Street's Carpark on Thursday April 21st (Easter Thursday) from 8pm until 6am.

Strummerville, The Joe Strummer New Music Foundation is a registered charity that gives support and hope to aspiring musicians and help to projects that help to change the world through music.

"These bi-annual showcases are always real highlights for us and it's exciting to present some of the broad spectrum of the talent we have been helping. Turner performed a very magical, intimate campfire session at Glastonbury last summer; a much talked about Glastonbury legend.

Anyone who has ever been to a Strummerville campfire or previous Strummerville Sessions will know that at every Strummerville event, there is a special energy. Strummerville's attitude for events is great music mixed with great people - on stage and off - pure and simple.

Serj Tankian teams up with Tom Morello and Shirley Manson

System Of A Down frontman Serj Tankian has enlisted Tom Morello for a new EP and Shirley Manson for a musical.

Serj Tankian released his digital only Imperfect Remixes EP today through Serjical Strike/Reprise Records on iTunes.

The first track 'Goodbye - Gate 21 (Rock Remix)' features RATM and Audioslave guitar-twiddler Tom Morello.

The four-track EP features remixes of songs from his most recent solo album Imperfect Harmonies.

Tankian has been a very busy boy of late, also writing a musical called Prometheus Bound with Tony and Grammy award-winning lyricist and playwright Steven Sater.

The first track released from the rock musical is called 'The Hunger' and features Garbage's Shirley Manson on vocals. It's available on iTunes from today with all profits going to Amnesty International.

System Of A Down are also back on tour, hitting up the US and Canada with seven shows in May.

Jessie J feels she can't 'compete' with Rihanna and Cheryl Cole

The 'Price Tag' singer is confident about her music and the way she looks, but she feels the pressure of being physically compared to the glamorous pop stars.

She said:"I try not worry about my looks, but they're so beautiful, it's hard to compete."

Though the 22-year-old singer can't help but compare herself to other stars, she insists she is confident about her good parts and accepts her flaws.

She explained:"I'm 5ft 9in ' I love being a giant, I was front of the queue for legs, but at the back for boobs and bum.

"My hair is my thing. It's always been this style.'

Jessie is obsessed with tights and is pleased she is often sent the garments for free as she goes through so many pairs.

She said: 'And people always comment on my tights. I've got a huge box of them under my bed. I've been sent thousands of pairs, which is good because I always rip them on my jewellery."

Earlier this month, Jessie admitted she doesn't have a stylist and doesn't worry about being fashionable.

She said:"I've never had a stylist. I've just had a shopper. And that's only been recently.

"I'm one of those people that if I want to wear something out there I will, and if I don't, I won't."
